Frequently asked questions

There’s a bunch of questions people ask us all the time when looking to have their alloys repaired, we’ve compiled some of the frequently asked below.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, Alloywheelwright have specialist insurance for moving vehicles, working on them and repairing wheels as well as the statutory employees and public indemnity insurance.

Can I use the vehicle straight away?

Yes. Once the wheels are on the car, the vehicle is ready to go.

Will my wheels need re-balancing after repair?

Your wheels will not need rebalancing as we do not remove the tyre completely, the tyre is pushed away from the rim so we can repair the kerb damaged. The tyre is inflated afterwards in the same position so as long as your wheels where balanced when we started then nothing we do will effect the wheel.

How much does it cost?

Prices depend on the state of the alloy, we start from £40 per wheel.

How long does it take?

Depending on the service provided, fixing a scuffs or visual mark can take anywhere from 1 – 2 hours, other services such as painting may take longer.

What is the repair process?

The wheels are repaired, reprimed, painted and lacquered, baked and refitted to your car.

How do I know if my wheels are painted or polished?

Machine polished wheels have very faint lines on the polished surface, similar to grooves in a record or CD. Painted silver alloy wheels usually have a fine metallic sparkle finish.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the midlands, mainly Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire but can travel further for larger jobs.

We don't judge

We refurbish your alloys to their true potential

If you’ve invested in a set of alloy wheels for your car, the chances are that you’ll want to keep them in excellent condition,
as this will help maintain the look and residual value of your motor. Unfortunately, accidents do happen,
scuffed alloys and kerbed alloy wheels are an all too common occurrence.
